Everyone has risk factors for some horrible disease. You can try to negate those risk factors all you want, but if you can't lose the weight... you can't lose the weight and that's just that. Personally I focus on eating healthy, proportioned meals and exercising, that in and of itself will lower the risk despite my body refusing to shed the pounds.

My sister was just told that gluten can mess with your thyroid. They did a biopsy and she has celiacs (I do too). Told her to cut the gluten and her thyriod could possibly go back to normal. She had Grave's disease and had radiation therapy when she was 12.

My grandma, a great aunt, two aunts, and my cousin (all on the same side of the family) have negative reactions to gluten. One aunt has a mass on her thyroid. My grandma has a bad thyroid. It runs in the family. I haven't had any extensive testing with the gluten, but muscle testing revealed that I'm sensitive to it. I've wondered if I have celiacs but I don't have insurance right now and can't really afford additional testing.

When I do have gluten, I get sooooo tired and I have heart palpitations. Sometimes I even have trouble breathing. One time, I woke up with my pillow covered in blood from a severe nose bleed after having gluten. Scary stuff. Sometimes, it doesn't really do anything though, but I get an upset stomach. I avoid it most of the time, but every so often I get a hold of it.

Honestly there's no point in going through the extensive testing for celiacs unless you fear they may be damage to your intestines. Since you're already gluten free a blood test wouldn't work and you'd have to have an upper endoscopy/ biopsy.

Oh, so I'd have to be eating gluten to get the tests done... no thanks lol

For the blood test, yeah. Not necessarily the endoscopy BUT if you've been gluten free for a while that may not register any damage either as your body can heal itself. My last endoscopy showed no celia damage, but the one previous it was quite extensive.

That's my point as well. The two go hand in hand....if you do it right. Rarely is there such a serious disorder or medical condition where if you're honestly eating right and working out, weight will not come off.

yup. Im in the process of eating 1200 cals a day, LOTS of ruits and veg, exercise daily and the weight is just m,elting off. Even women with PCOS who tend to have difficulty losing weight, when they eat right and exercise they lose weight. Not as fast but they do. This lady is a fake.

Yep, I did the same thing! 1200 cals a day, watched my carb intake and tons of water, not even that much exercise, and I lost over 100 lbs.

I eat veggies and meat. I eat about 1000 calories a day. No carbs. I exercise about 30 minutes a day. And I still am overweight. I don't know what to do

I gained 40 pounds since April due to medical condition and medications even when I started on 1000 calories a day I gained but I realize most people aren't like this

Are you on steroids by any chance? Or trigger point injections?
