I believe the audiologist said she's mild to moderate in hearing loss. She placed in the middle on her hearing screen. And I'm so sorry to hear about your hearing loss :( do you wear aides? Are they comfortable? I'm so sorry
<blockquote><b>Quoting ℳary ℐane:</b>" A partial loss? I'm sorry hun."</blockquote>
Yes. Mild to Moderate. The woman described her hearing us only at a whisper right now. She says because of her age that wouldn't affect her learning since we hold her so close so she hears us loud enough for now but, she's concerned when Cass really begins moving and crawling away from me. She says we will need to give her the aides so when we call her she hears us. But idk.. I'm still so confused and upset..

Interesting and actually kind of cool. She sounds like she is very in tune
Hi there, Not sure if you'll see this, BUT I am in the same boat as you....and I can say it is tough, but you'll be FINE!
I am hearing impaired myself, actually I have severe to profound HL, as well as my mom....and a few other female relatives. Our hearing loss seems to run in only women....suckkks, I know. You could never really tell I have sucha profound loss...with my Hearing aids, I hear good..great even.Without them..NADA.
Anyways..When I had my son who is 6 now,he passed all the hearing tests.
Fast forward to my daughter who is now 3....not so much. She passed her left ear in the newborn screening but the right had issues. So When she was 2,she got the test where they knock her out, (forgot the name)and they said she has moderate to severe, with a reverse slope hearing loss(it's a very rare type where she can hear whispers and sounds perfectly ,but if someone is standing in front of her talking, she has a bit of trouble hearing).
When I first found out, I cried only bc I know what it's like....
but....I am SO over it now...because she's doing amazing with her hearing aids..she's right on track for her age in speech(she goes to speech twice a week)..
I feel like it could have been a LOT worse...so I am happy that she's a happy 3 year old!
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or whatever!
