I am sure VHS would be cheap lol but anything that has been released on DVD is only for a short period of time then it is locked away for however long until they want to release it again. So that makes the prices outrageous. There are people that rent the movies from blockbuster ans steal them so that Blockbuster can't even get another copy unless it is released again from Disney:(

Right now Cinderella is in stores. You just have to buy them when they're out of te vault. You can usually get holiday themed ones around now. Not the original but like belles Christmas and such.

Like the other ladies are saying, the classics are only released from the Disney Vault every so often, so when it's not that movies' turn to be out of the vault, they're SUPER expensive because they're not currently in production.

I just signed up for the Disney movie club, it's pretty neat you get 5 movies for $1 with free shipping but the catch is you have to buy i think it's 5 regular priced movies within 2 years

You're talking about Disney Movies.
They have this thing they Call "The Vault" where the only release the Older movies for so long, it's like a Month or 2 & then they go "Back in the Vault" & that is the only time frame you have to get them. Anything left over ends up Jacked up. As far as I know they haven't released a "Princess Collection" Like with the First of all the Princesses, & Man would that ever be Expensive!
Even their New Movies are only available for a fairly short time.
And that's also how they keep their Prices so High("Sale" even at Walmart is at least $25 for a Disney movie), They make the Huge Demand, & very little Supply.

Pocahontas was released Aug-Sept. Oct the released Cinderella. Next October Little Mermaid is supposed to be Freed. I have No Idea on Mulan. Snow White is back for about another 5 Years or so.

My daughter's starting the "Disney Princess" Phase too, & we just can't get them, far less Justify most of them.

My Daughter's getting Pocahontas(Duo-Pack) for Christmas, My Aunt's had it Picked up for her since 2 days after her Birthday!
She's just Big into Mermaid's, which is Why I asked the Disney Store People when we could get that one. Maybe she'll still be interested In a year. But she IS 2 Years old, so I could easily see that changing!
She has a Burned copy of "Mulan", & We've got Brave Pre-Ordered, other than that She has "Rapunzel", "Beauty & The Beast", and "Princess & The Frog". Ohh & a Couple of "Tinkerbell" movies, she's been Eying that New "Tink" one that's coming out, & once in a while glances towards Cinderella.
She's really been on a "Belle" Kick the last week or so.
