I know how you feel. Im 37 weeks and 6 days and so tired and hurting especially my back all the time. you have the right to feel how you want to. Im getting induced on Nov 14th just because i want to. I dont care what people have to say. Im not selfish i cant wait to meet my son and everything i do is for him now so i know and god knows and its all that matters. You will actually be surprised at how many mothers get induced ( i had tons of nursing clinicals on the maternity floor) i guess they just dont talk about it because of what people have to say on here but who cares. If there was something wrong with it then my doctor would not induce me. My mom is a nurse ( she cant just walk out of the er if i go into labor) and i want her to be there as well as my husband so its all planned out and scheduled.
ANYWAYS people are all different and last week at 36 weeks i was already dilated 1.5 cm and 70% thinned (effaced) and soft. The baby was at a -3. all i have done is had sex really cuz im so lazy. I honestly didnt think there would be any change BUT to answer your question they do say sex is good because an orgasm can make u have contractions and semen softens ur cervix. also walking and squating is what my doctor said. other than that there are things ive heard of but am not gonna say i believe in because i do agree when the time comes it comes. Those things can just assist in getting things started. but things i dont really believe is spicy foods, primrose oil, accupressure, pineapple...
Just answering ur question girly sorry for all the rude comments im sure ur super excited about ur baby or you wouldnt be on here!!!!!! :)

Yeah.. just because you had complication-free births at 37 weeks, doesn't mean everyone else can. Several other people in this thread have proven that already. Also, sex only works if your body is ready to go into labor. Semen softens the cervix and that's about it.
You are right about walking though. Once you are in labor. It won't do anything before then, except get you really in shape :)

Don't tell her that! She'll try to give herself a UTI :D

What I wish people would understand is the term ESTIMATED. Your due date is only estimated. It could be off! So you could really be 35 weeks, or really 39 (just an example) You don't know for sure. Just like when doctors estimate a babies weight. THEY ARE JUST GUESSING!

It sucks but if baby isn't ready to come yet, baby isn't going to come. None of that DIY shit actually works. Just gives pregnant women something to hope for. Have a nice relaxing bath and *try* to enjoy what quiet time you have left before LO's arrival. Believe me, some nights you're gonna be up crying and wishing you were pregnant again.

No matter what you try and do baby will come when baby is ready, I spent 2 nights this past week up all night with horrible lower backache cramping and contractions only to have them stop when it was time to get up from work. The end of pregnancy is not comfortable or fun for anyone!! with my son I was 40.5 before he decicide he wanted to come into the world I lived on the 4th floor, walked stairs drank castor oil haha I'll never do again that sheesh was awful, of course it was 11 years ago as well. If you feel that bad then don't get out of bed rest your going to need it anyhow.

Man I'm terrified Ill have ppd again. I had to take anti-depressants. It was terrifying. I was unhappy, and it was suppose to be the happiest time of my life and I couldn't figure out why I was in such a dark place. My mother called and reported it to my doctor who had me come in asap. I was evaluated and put on antidepressants immediately. Thankfully it went away!

I've heard people who have had it before are at risk to have it again. I didn't take anything for it :/ I'm gonna bf this lo but if that comes back, I wonder if they have anti depressants you can take while breastfeeding?? :/
