Do you think Alistair is a strange name for a boy in America TennisMaster Bellevue, Washington 21 posts

We're considering naming upcoming son Alistair in honor of my husband's grandfather who was a war hero in WWI, and someone who had a lot of significance in his life.
Do you think he will be made fun of by other kids for it?
For a girl, maybe Leliana, Serena, Miranda or Claire.

No, it's gaining popularity. Not too much to. It's an amazingly awesome name!

It's a great name. I don't think he'd get made fun of for the name.

Absolutely not, especially since it has family significance.

If DH gets his way, we'll have a Magnus come December - another popular name in Europe.

I'm not sure about the conventional pronunciation.
The way how my husband's relatives pronounce it is "Ah-lih-stair"
