No yolk or fetal pole.. Jenplus1 2 kids; Henderson, Nevada 887 posts

Im going crazy!! I don't know how far along I am because with PCOS I have irregular periods. I know I didn't have a period in oct but its possible I had one in beginning/mid sept.
I went to the ER last Saturday because I had pretty bad cramping all day. The docs did an ultrasound, blood tests, and physical exam.
My results were: HCG 3263. Intrauterine gestational sac measuring 6.3mm too small for accurate dating. No fetal pole or yolk.
The ER doc mentioned abnormal pregnancy and possibly needing a d & c. He said my hormone levels indicate there should be more than just the sac.

So, I went to my ob this morning. I'm really bummed they didn't do another u/s. they took more blood to test my hormone levels again but I wont know the results till maybe tomorrow.
So, has anyone else gone through something like this? Based on my calculations i think it's possible I'm around 6 w 1d. I did read the yolk should show at 5w4d..
My cramping has pretty much stopped and I'm not spotting. But I'm going crazy with worry!!

hold out until you get your hcg levels. I was extremely early 4wks5dys and my levels were 4000 and went up to 7000 but there was nothing to see either. The dr prepared me for cancer, another abnormal pregnancy that would need a d&c but he held out for a week after my levels went up and then we were able to see a heartbeat, fetal pole, and yolk sac at 5wks6dys. Your levels could be wonky is all and baby hasn't caught up to where it "should" be yet, mine is 10wks now and we just saw it wiggling around all over the screen :) positive thoughts mama!!

Try and stay calm until tomorrow. If your levels are raising you may just be earlier than your doctor things.

Yes I had that with my son. They did an ultra sound to see why they couldnt find the lil one. When I turned 4 months the doctores did another ultrasound and there he was. It could be that a ur haven a tubel pregnacy or b ur baby is hiding from the doctors my son did that alot. He hated getting looked at. Best of luck to you hunn and don't stress that could make things worse.

Hmm..it's so confusing because I know I haven't had a period in our new house that we moved into sept 16. I don't know how to back track not knowing lmp.

In December I had a chemical pregnancy and my uterus was completely empty with the exception of my uterus thickening like the egg attached there and then died. My levels were low already. Your levels seem pretty good so keep some faith op!

Idk how you could backtrack it either if you don't have an LMP to go by or even OPK or something like you noticed the EWCM... You'd be about 4-5wks since there's a gestational sac at least assuming everything is developing normally. Hb and fetal poles aren't normally seen until 6wks. I think yolk sacs are at about 5wks. But imo- ER's suck at u/s stuff and scare women more than help them. Rest and relax as much as you can in the meantime. Do you know when you got a positive on the HPT? It might help narrow it down but since your levels are a bit high it might not help at all. Sorry wish I could help more or tell you it's all ok... fingers crossed for you though!!

With PCOS you might have missed your period & then got pregnant before having your next. Or you might have had a long cycle & ovulated late in it. Maybe late implantation even? Any number of things.

I've got PCOS & with my first pregnancy they didn't see anything around 5-ish weeks, but at next ultrasound at 8 weeks there baby was, healthy, measuring right on at 8 weeks & heart ticking away. Turned out I had ovulated like 5 days before my period was supposed to start (if it was going to stick to the semi-regular schedule it had been on for about 6 months). Had a healthy & uneventful pregnancy & a healthy baby. Give it time, stressing wont help, even though I know it certainly isn't easy waiting! Best of luck mama!
