Painfull ingrown hair!! (bikini) Landon's Mommy☮ 1 child; Quebec 513 posts

So I've had ingrown hairs before, I'm sure we all have. But this one takes the cake. I sometimes get a small ingrown hair on my bikini line after shaving my area, it usually lasts a few days, about three max and then goes away. It's usually itchy and hurts if I put pressure on it but other than that it's not a bother. THIS ONE though, is huge and really painful. I didn't even notice it until today, I guess it came about sometime in the last 24 hours. The only time I'm comfortable is when my legs are apart, when I walk or cross my legs it really hurts. It's big and feels like an air bubble if I gently poke at it too, which has never happened before. What are some safe home remedies to get rid of it? I'm afraid to pop it in case it doesn't work especially since just a gentle poke really hurts.. And if possible, how can I avoid getting them in the future? And how long can they usually last? I'm seeing SO this weekend for the first time since September and I'm afraid it's going to be so painful we won't be able to get intimate :S

Thanks mamas!

I can usually see the hair just under the skin so I dig it out with a needle and then pluck it all the way out LOL

Wet a cloth with as hot of water as you can stand and it'll bring whatever's in there to the surface. Then grit your teeth and pop/pluck it.

Hot wash cloth with light pressure over a few hours. If there is puss in it then it should rise to the top over some time so you can pop it. I would pop mine if they get that bad. Otherwise whenever i get out of the shower or use the restroom I look to make sure I cant see any ingrown hairs and if I do I pluck em right then and there.

Yeah if u pluck them before they get too bad it's easier. Otherwise they get swill and trapped under the skin which is more painful and harder to get out without breaking the skin.

Yeah, it hurts pretty bad I've never had it this bad before and it'll be pretty embarrassing if I can't get rid of it before I see SO lol.
I'll try the warm cloth and popping it if I have to. Do you guys normally pop them with a sterile needle or with your two fingers like a pimple?

And yeah, from now on I'm going to check regularly lol
