Quoting A, E & W's mommy:" Has anyboy's kid had it, I know it's rare but I sure would like to find someone to bounce my thoughts/concerns off of :("

My little brother had it when he was 2. He almost died because his pediatrician kept telling my mom he just had a cold. When they finally decided to take him to the emergency room 4 different doctors seen him and only 1 knew what to test for. He was in the hospital for a week and had an iv in each foot, each hand and his head. It was terrible. Then he was on an aspirin everyday for a year.

my very good friend has triplets. one of her sons (2 boys, 1 girl) got it a few halloween's ago.

he's 5 now. go it when he was 11 months old. he checks in with a cardiologist every 6 months, but besides that he's totally healthy. it was a VERY scary time before he was diagnosed, and then again after diagnosed with kawasaki in the hospital.

It's very rare that the child won't make a full recovery within a few days with proper treatment. My little brother is 12 now and he's perfectly fine. Most websites don't say this but my little brothers doctor in the hospital said that it is believed (but not proven) that the disease can be caused by children playing, napping, etc on wet carpet. I don't know if anyone else has heard that. My cousin's son had it too just 2 weeks ago. He just got out of the hospital last week and he's doing a lot better now than he was a couple weeks ago. It most often happens in boys under 5 and more often in Asian boys (because that's where the disease originated) but it can happen at other ages, in all races and in girls too.

they mentioned that to my friend too, but said it might have been from the carpet cleaner used on the carpet.
