Do you have to stuff a whole chicken? John Mayer. 2 kids; Modesto, California 21992 posts8th Nov '12
Gonna roast a whole chicken for dinner. I usually stuff it with a lemon, some garlic, and onion. But DH says he doesn't wanna stuff it this time. So yeah, can you roast it without putting anything in the cavity?

I peel an apple and put it in, so that it doesn't dry out too much, but i don't thinkyou HAVE to stuff it.

I've never stuffed any birds, I always worry about contamination.

It's not stuffing, lol. It's just to give it more flavor and moisture. We don't eat the lemon and that stuff afterward.
And thank you everyone, maybe I'll try the apple!
