Does God plan how our lives will be? Lucid Dreamer Florida 3820 posts

It is commonly believed that God plans our lives and what we will experience but I believe we choose our own missions before birth. Some of which will be tough but crreates faster growth or some greater good but we don't remember any of this upon entry into this world because to do so would makes us just go through the motions and make our existence here totally boring. What do you believe?

I believe god is a delusion of man's desperation for more.

So he only plans people's lives in their own minds.

(My opinion.)

I don't believe in God or anything like that. I believe there is a higher power but ultimately we make our own decisions on our life. And for those who believe in Heaven and Hell, if God decided your path then you would never commit sins.

I think you are given the power to choose what happens in your life.

I'm Atheist, so I don't believe there is any "plan" for anyone's life. It's what you make it. If you make shitty choices, you'll have a shitty life, period.

Uh no. Some fake dude in the sky does not plan our lives... WE are the only captains of our destiny. Remember that.

I can trying to find the quote, but having no luck.....I think it was CS Lewis, but I will do my best to not butcher what he was trying to say...

God knows what our lives will be. He is the author, but I believe he's also given us free will. How the two go hand in hand, I have no clue. However, time means nothing to God. God can know our future decisions because he's already been there, he's not bound by time. "He was, He is, He is to come."

And I realize I sound crazy  I'm OK with that.

I don't believe in a god but I think we decided what happens in our life. I don't think it's planned out in any way. It's all about the choices we make each day.

I sure as hell don't believe that I chose all the terrible shit I've been through before I was born. I also don't believe God (or whoever/whatever) chose my life path. The people around me influenced my childhood and I influence my own adulthood. I make my own decisions, period.

I was brought up in a Christian home, we were told we could do what we wanted with our lives, God had given us the freedom to make our own decisions. However, our decisions would decide whether or not we would spend eternity in Heaven

I think of it as your life is a choose your own ending story book.

You make all the choices and there is an ending for each choice you make.

It's not commonly believed that God plans our lives. Even among those who do believe in God. If he did, nobody would sin. Everybody would be perfect little copies of Jesus. We are given the freedom of choice and the freedom to pursue a relationship with God IF we want to. I'm a firm believer that God never gives us more than we can handle, but he's not involved in every single minute detail of your life and dictating whether you read a book now or do laundry. You are still free to make your own choices and do as you please.

I believe that he has a plan for us, but it is upto us to follow. We need to make the right decisions in order to get to that great plan that he has set for our lives.

I don't believe in "god". Therefore, my good and bad lot in life are products of the choices I've made. "god" doesn't decide my future, history, or present. I do.
