Rash??? Leah+2 2 kids; Texas 5797 posts

I changed my son before I put him down tonight and he has a bunch of tiny red bumps all in his diaper area. I put some nystatin on it but I don't think it's a yeast rash. No change in laundry soap or softener, no different diapers or wipes. And no real change in diet. He never sits in poppy diapers long and he didn't poop recently, just this morning. I have pics but can't upload them from my phone unless someone wants me to send them to them and upload them for me..

Any other ideas?

And the rash is only in his diaper area.

Has he been drinking alot of apple juice or other acid juices??? That can cause a rash. I know my son hardly ever got diaper rash, but when he was getting his 2 yr molers he got a bad diaper rash!

He never gets diaper rashes. And no to the juice. He gets one of those Capri suns roarin waters once a day. That's the only juice like thing he gets. I hope it goes away. He doesn't seemed bothered by it.

Nystatin is prescription only so not sure how you say ge doesn't get rashes. For future reference triple paste af works better than the nystatin.

Way to come in late an be rude. I have the nystatin from when he got a yeast rash from high powered antibiotics. Which he has not taken recently and did not cause this particular rash. So you're right. He gets rashes from antibiotics.

Oh ok. Sorry I took it that way. I have regular diaper rash cream on hand even though he almost never needs it but when he does he hates for me to use it, almost like it hurts or something. But he doesn't mind the nystatin.

The nystatin for us just never fully cleared it up. So her pediatrician suggested the triple paste af. It's hands down the best stuff. My daughter normally throws a fit if her rash is hurting but she doesn't mind this stuff. I'm just glad she finally got tubes so we cut back on the antibiotics.

Yep. Before my son turned two he was getting ear infections pretty much every six weeks so he was constantly on antibiotics. Took him for a tubes consult and he hasn't had an ear infection since. I always joke that we should have threatened him with surgery sooner. Lol.
