Ha ha... that's my name. Although it is short for something else. I think it's "starting" to become its own name, but in the past, it's been short for a longer name.

Ellie can be short for a lot of names. I've never heard of it used as its own name but I'm sure people do. If I heard anyone with that name I'd assume it was a NN.

When my boyfriend first came up with Ellie as her nickname I didn't really like it but he refused to call her anything else and by the time she was a month old it grew on me and that's all we call her. I'm pretty sure she doesn't know her name isnt Ellie lol I only call her Elizabeth when I'm frusterated lol

Ellie is cute......I wanted to use Nellie after my grandmother if we had a girl and since my husband doesnt really like the name we thought Ellie would be cute and still semi close to Nellie.

I like it.
