So I just talked my friend and she tells me that her water broke Saturday but she didn't know and just thought she was peeing herself. Well she went to the doctors today and finds out it's been broke since Saturday well they are saying baby will be fine but she's only dialted at a 2 and they are starting pitocin right now. I'm so extremely excited right now and can not wait to meet her newb. But isn't is dangerous that her water has been broken since Saturday? She said they are giving her antibiotics. And she's only 37 weeks.

There is definitely a risk of infection and loosing too much amniotic fluid, but it's good that they have her on antibiotics

My water had been broken over 24 hours before they told me to come into the hospital to get it checked. I was on antibiotics and DD was born at 36 weeks. The only thing wrong was some Jaundice. But other than that she was perfectly healthy.

That seems dangerous because my water broke and I immediately went to the hospital, and they wanted to give me a c-section if I wasn't ready to push within 24 hours.

My water broke at some point 1-2 days before having DS (I was in labor the entire time and completely missed it somehow) and we didn't know until they went to break it. DS was born with an unrelated fever, but was fine. I was told that it could lead to an infection, but it wasn't extremely dangerous unless it had been going on for several days.
