Am I the only one that pictures these states being the kid at the park that screams, "IF YOU WONT PLAY MY GAME IM TAKING MY BALL HOME AND LEAVING!"

No?
Just me.
Okay.

<blockquote><b>Quoting SpaceCowgirl:</b>" What are all your buddies at Fox news and on AM radio saying about it? Do you think that all the states who are signing the petition will go together or do you think they'll try to separate?"</blockquote>

They are all for it. I'll get you some links when I get in from smoking. Rush recited the first part of the D of I on his show, Hannity says we need another 1860, and of course Beck has been calling for secession since he moved to Texas.

Did you know that Texas has the 15th largest economy in the world? I learned that today. I think the CSA would reform and they would go together.

In a way.

But I'm sure there would have been plenty of, "I'm moving to Canada" threads if Romney had won.

Yes, I had heard that. Last I heard California has the 4th or 6th largest...or something like that.

Oh, absolutely.

I guess, personally, I am sick of the sore loser mentality in this country. Not just in politics but also in sports, in college, with children, etc. It seems like no one knows how to accept defeat in any way.

People may find me to be odd, but despite whether or not I voted for a person, if they are my president, they are my president and I will continue to pray and support them in any way that I can. That went for Obama and Romney. I love America too much to simply say "Eff you guys!"

Doesn't anyone else see the beauty in the fact that we, as a country, have handed over power peacefully for 236 years?

Maybe its my American pride and all but after watching what happened in Libya, Egypt, the Congo, etc - this is something that we should be proud of! We vote! We don't have to have death and destruction in order to have a new leader. That is AWESOME.

I totally agree.

People have this allegiance to party and could care less if it's bad for the country. I wish our government would work together and come up with actual solutions. I guess, in a way, I honestly believe the politicians fight to keep their constituents fighting...that way we'll all be too busy fighting to notice that they're looting the treasury and screwing us all over.

I know you are generally not very left leaning but have you ever seen Dylan Ratigans rant on MSNBC about how our savings, our money, our livelihood is being extracted from us every day by the bought Congress that was supposedly elected to serve us?

I completely agree with his entire stance. Others tend to think he's loony. lol

I just looked it up, and I'm watching it right now.

We will never have any true "change" in this country until our politicians can no longer be bought. It sucks.

Why would a congressman give a lowly teacher like me his support when he can get millions from Walmart to support Charter Schools instead?

You mean since 1860. The South seceded mainly in part because of the election of Lincoln and started the process a few days after the election results were posted and had all seceded by February 1861, just one month after his inaguration.

I have a family friend who is a lobbyist. He says the cycle is: business gives politician money for campaign, politician gets into office and legislates to help business make more money, business uses the extra money to give back to the politician at the next election, etc, etc

And the middle class are the poor saps who are paying for it.
