I guess it's all a matter of who your doctor is, what you believe and where you come from. Some may question my Doctor and what I'm doing but don't really care. My little girl is happy and healthy and that's what is important...

And I agree to disagree. You raise your child how you see fit and I shall do the same...

Okay. :) She is a gorgeous girl and looks healthy. Do research if you question anything your doc tells you though. And try to give her the bottle before she falls asleep so it doesnt sit in her mouth and damage her teeth.

I do and I talk to others and make my own judgement call. I've helped raise my two nephews and they are 4 and 5 years old and they are happy and healthy, also. She gets her bottle while she's awake and when she falls asleep I take the baby out of her mouth. Would be silly to let it just hang in her mouth...

Hey, some people don't know any better and do let babies fall asleep with a bottle. Seems like you're being snippy and I've tried to be polite to this point.

Here's the deal... you're stupid to blindly follow your docs advice. You obviously aren't researching enough because I just found at least 20 websites and doctors who say to NOT put food in a baby's bottle. Here's one from a children's hospital. You are not making a good decision for your baby at this point. But not like you'll listen, with you being all defensive and all. Good luck.

Ouch, that hurt. Actually not really. I think it's cute how you think you know all but in reality know nothing at all...

I wasn't trying to hurt you. lol. Was trying to educate you. You've been a parent for all of 4 months. I've been one for almost 18 years, and also am pregnant again. I research. A lot. Because I want what's best for my child.

Guess I just care too much.

She actually has a very valid, medically backed point.

Why are you getting so defensive?
If your doctor really is telling you all of this then you need to find a different doctor. She shouldn't have any cereal in her bottle plain and simple. The only time that is recommended by doctors is when the baby has really bad reflux.
Which is why I don't think you are telling the whole truth.
No one was rude to you in this thread so stop snapping at everyone.

I was waiting for someone to throw it all out there. OP, you shouldn't get defensive over this- they were legitimately trying to HELP you make good decisions with your baby girl. My doctor told me the same, wanted little man to start on solids at four months- after I showed him research from eight different websites all he could say is "some kids can handle it better than others." ALL children are still developing at four months old. I took his comment and threw it out the damn window. My research seemed more valid than his argument.
