Maybe not that one but I can quote quite a few where he does condone it.

Numbers 31:7-18
They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings

You can sit there and pick through Bible verses to fit your argument (like others have said in this thread) but you have to understand the Bible as a whole. The old testament which all your verses are coming from was a different time than the new testament. These were times of war, rebellion and reigning of leaders. The Lord directed many of wars to wipe out rebellious, unrepentant people. Women and children did not go to war so when one side won they would take their enemies' families as their own. In your last verse, the Lord was punishing David for taking another man's wife. It was a consequence of his sin. As I said before, you can't just take a verse here and there and use it out of its context.

And you can act like these verses mean nothing. God is a brute. No way around it. lol

It's not that they mean nothing but you can't sum God up in a few verses. God has reason and right to do what he does. After all, he is God. What you're missing is the big picture. God is merciful. We are a very sinful people who deserve to spend an eternity in hell as punishment. But he made a way out of it so we can spend an eternity in Heaven with him. The way is through his son, Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." It's that easy. God loves you and wants to spend an eternity with you.

No thanks I'd rather not spend an eternity with your God ... I'll stick with mine.

I'm a christian. I put Bible verses on my FB now and then. I don't get why it would annoy you. Sometimes it helps encourage other christian friends, sometimes it's just verse that has helped me alot that day. I don't get why it would bother you. If someone is posting them on your wall that's a dif story.. otherwise there shouldn't be an issue.

THANK YOU! lol Almost everyone who is trying to go against the Bible uses verses out of context I've noticed.

First off, I don't do it ALL the time. Lol I post random verses here and there.
Second, I have friends of other religions who do put verses from their holy books, and it does not bother me what so ever.

I post alot of pictures of my son though, and I'm sure some people find that annoying. (I've seen fb friends vent on their statuses about ppl posting a million pics of their kids) lol Idc though I live far from family.. FB is the only way they see him. Plus it's my FB. If they don't like it.. they can hide me.

I went to a pretty strict Christian school and post a lot about science and medical breakthroughs ... I've already had quite a lot of backlash on that.
