so after being in this thread, i decided to start taking the zoloft that i had just started last year. i haven't gotten to a really bad point with my anxiety and have been able to cope, but lately i can tell that things are starting to go down that road again, so i thought i would nip it in the bud before i was back to having to turn around and drive by my house 2 twice after i would leave, just because i was so afraid that i had forgotten to close the garage door. anxiety with borderline OCD tendencies it what my dr called it.

anyway, i guess my pregnancy pumped me full of hormones that kept me able to manage better, but 2 months PP, i think the zoloft might be a good idea again. i started with 25mg to start for a week, and then will bump to 50mg. that low dose worked wonders last time. hope it does again.

I hope it helps! I haven't started mine yet...got it filled yesterday but I'll probably start on Monday. It's good that you recognize the signs and start before it gets bad. That's how I sought help. I wasn't in a full blown manic episode but noticed the signs and got an appointment before I lost my job and my home. Still struggling with school though.

I am like this!! Whenever I get out of a depressive episode I quit going to therapy/taking meds and then I get manic for a while and then the depression starts all over again. I've stuck with my zoloft for a few months which is honestly the longest I've stuck with any treatment... I go back to the psychiatrist Tuesday to discuss some sort of mood stabilizing meds to help with the mania, which has always been 100x harder for me to deal with than depression, and now I know what it is, I can start to work on making it better...hopefully!

I have been on it for eight years.

It has changed my life. I was severely agoraphobic before (couldn't leave the house).

I old SO were just gonna have to pay student loans cause I don't want to do my maters right away. I want to feel Alive again. Maybe in a few years but I'm just not in the mindset to choose a specific date.

I was all gungho for a long time. Just when I got burnt out at community college I finished my AA and started at an online university. Which was new and exciting so I got my kick back. Then I got burnt out and dropped down to taking 2 instead of 3 classes cause my field work got to be too much on top of my regular course work. then I took a break last fall. Then I went back winter and spring and got overwhelmed again and took summer off. Now I'm back for fall and just have hated it since day 1 back. I'm over it. Idk how to motivate myself again :(

I was gung-ho last semester but this semester not so much. At first I was but I've fallen behind in all my classes and just can't bring myself to care.
I should bring that up at my appointment tomorrow. I know demotivation is a big part of depression. When I was manic I cared. I did all my homework early and was always in class. Now I'm just like...bleh. I hope the Zoloft helps. I don't want to mess with any more medication if I don't have to.

Ilove it! It really makes a difference in my mood and state of mind and I haven't gained any weight or had any noticeable problems with my skin. It works for me. I don't feel any restlessness in my legs that I can attribute to the zoloft, just an occasional cramp in my ankles that you can get from not moving for hours.

Heck yes! Just what I needed to hear/read.
I'm starting it tomorrow.
