Yeah 16 months is crazy, I don't know what happened. But I have read tons of women who get pregnant shortly after the removal. It took me 9 months to get pregnant when I was trying for my first, I miscarried that pregnancy at 11 weeks then it took 4 months to concieve my daughter which seemed like a normal time period. But this time pregnancy absolutely nothing for 16 months. I read a lot about the Paragaurd and I think I'll try that one once I have this baby, I won't go back to Mirena although I never had any bad side effects or problems with it. Only thing after I had it for 2 years I couldn't find my strings anymore and when I had it removed the doctor couldn't see them either and he took a while to remove it and it was pretty painful, but who knows where my strings went haha

I had it placed in for about a year and i had to get it out because i had a uti and doctors said that because of the mirena that the uti would never leave would always stick on it unless i got it out so i got it out in may about and got pregnant with my daugther in july, BUT she was born with hypoplastic left heart and comes with no genetic probleme, its a total mystery

I had the one without hormones and thats what my doctor told me , it's a good way to not get pregnant but i had a lot of cramping and pain, and it's really dangerous for ectopic pregnancies , few of girls i know this happend to them, now im anti birth control i feel like anything you take is not goos for your body! I'm just really going to watch out to not get pregnant !!

See I feel the same way! I don't really like any form of birth control because of everything they do to our bodies but I don't believe in abortions & I'm going back to school (college) once my LO is a year so we couldn't really have another one soon. I'm so conflicted as to what i want to do because I don't want to get pregnant right now but I don't want to ruin my chances of getting pregnant in the future. :/
