After having a baby end up in the NICU after a picocin induction (it was at 42 weeks and he pitocin caused my daughters heart to, she went into distress a few times during the induction, and passed meconium, which she later aspirated). If I needed I would for sure choose a castor oil induction over a medical one. But I also didnt have a need for an induction this time (thank god), and wouldnt induce with my VBAC anyways...

Quoting Will☮Creedence:" Totally stealing this"

I had to write a research paper in school and I was interested in learning about tthe negative scientific/medical aspects of castor oil. I was very surprised to learn they didnt exist. Which makes it so interesting that such a stigma is attached to it.

I knew there was no medical proof of the pooping thing, but whenever I try to tell people I end up sounding dumb because I have no real facts.

I think I am going to have to geek out and pay for access to them even after school is out.

Welp.. imo you can't knock something you haven't tried. Castor oil worked for me, worked for mom and worked for grandma.. and a few cousins/sisters. But good luck.. maybe try breastpump.

I feel you, I had to be induced and given Cytotec and Pitocin...my labor was a b***h to deal with..like I really thought I was going to die, contractions were back to back with no stopping so I had a hard time catching my breath. If your already 4 cm, do alot of nipple stimulation, have sex, walk, and do squats!

I REALLY dont think I'll need pitocin or anything, I kinda think that theyre just going to break my water and he's gonna come right on out. I HOPE thats the case but you never know. I'm anxious about being induced.

I wonder if this is what caused my daughter to have the issue with breathing and turning blue she did...she had to go to the NICU after delivery too..

They were not able to tell me why that happened, they ran every single test, chest xray, 2 echos, a cranial ultrasound and tons of bloodwork was taken but they never gave me a definitive answer. Basically I was explained that she had a "freak out moment" where she forgot she was outside the uterus...which isn't very reasurring to be given an answer like that :( Did your baby have any other issues after that?
