What if he's worried about this possibly being his parents last thanksgiving? They have been in failing health the last few years (which is the main reason he wanted to move back here). Also keep in mind that my grandfather probably won't be around much longer due to his prostate cancer issues. And my great grandma is 99 years old.

fuck, I don't know what to do :(

What if you compromise and leave Thursday night or early Friday morning? You would miss Thanksgiving with your family, but you would still be able to see them at least

I would go. I mean your spending Christmas with his family so you should be able to spend thanksgiving with your family. I have been feeling a little down with missing my family and my boyfriends going hunting for the whole week of thanksgiving so I decided to stay with my parents all week. Sometimes there is nothing like being with your family especially when you haven't seen them in a while.

Then I would have to go to my family if it were me. Yes its sad that it may be his parents last Thanksgiving, but you also have family that is sick and it might be there last Thanksgiving. As horrible as it is, it could be the last time you see them. You live near his family so you will still see his parents.
I hope no matter what you decide you are happy with the decision.

Go Melissa, seriously! GO. I know how it is to be homesick, it made me really depressed. I know when you got married your family became Colt and Brian but it isn't fair for you or Colt.

What did MIL think you should do? I think if you're spending Christmas with DH and his family, you should be able to spend Thanksgiving home in CO. I mean, all of our family is here in the same state, but we still split Holidays up like that. This Thanksgiving we'll be with my parents and then come Christmas, we'll be with his parents. We'll flip flop it come 2013.

He has no reason to be pissed off about you visiting your family. Esp when you don't see them very much. My husbands fam comes out here ALL the time. we see them alot. And I hardly see my fam and my husband would never be upset/mad about going to visit mine. He's very understanding.

What if the roles were reversed and he hardly saw his family? I def think you should talk to your husband about this!
