Inappropriate or not? Ace of Bace 1 child; New Bern, North Carolina 1653 posts

My husband is having a 4hr surgery tomorrow. I have to stay the whole time. I have a 1 yr old who will be with me ( babysitter isn't an option, there is no one I trust) would it be inappropriate to set up his pack n play in the waiting room at the hospital ?

I would just bring some pillows and blankets to set up a bed on the chairs

As long as there is enough space and it won't really be in everyone's way, then I think it would be okay.

I personally wouldn't do it. I'd take a stroller and alternate from that and holding/entertaining.

I say yes. Pack n plays take up a good chunk of space.

you probably won't be in a general waiting room, but in his pre/post-op room. At least that's how it's been for the few surgeries my hubby/myself have had.

I would if it was that little small room for the specific floor, and it wasn't full of people. Otherwise I wouldn't.

I don't know. If the waiting room is packed, I probably wouldn't set it up.

I say do what you have to do. I wouldn't have it in the middle of the floor, but set up out of the way, I wouldn't really see an issue.

I wouldn't do it. Id say stroller is the max amount of space to take up. Do you HAVE to stay, or can you go walk around the hospital, outside, etc.?

If youre in the general waiting room, no. There are smaller waiting rooms on each floor, and if no one is in there I wouldnt see too much of a problem with that. I think the stroller and a lot of toys would be best.

Why not call and ask before hand? I'd be pretty pissed if I took it in and then was told no that I couldn't do it.. Save some hassle and frustration.
