Quoting Clk:" The breed doesn't really matter it's the personality and training of the dog. Train your kids to be gentle ... [snip!] ... what some are saying small dogs can be friendly no matter the age. Honestly. not all small dogs are mean just like big dogs."
It definitely depends on the dog. Some big dogs can be mean.
My girls are far from gentle with our dog lol. However she is very gentle with them and us.

Quoting NkW:" <blockquote><b>Quoting FaithLovesBaby:</b>" Personally, I HATE small dogs. Very seldom ... [snip!] ... "</blockquote> My husband wants a pug, I want a French bulldog. Do you know anything about toy fox terriers tho?"Pugs are so cute, lol. They look like smushed frogs. We didn't really have many toy fox terriers, but I know that they're pretty high-energy on average.

Quoting Whitney*JAS*BMM*:" For me I personally do not like little dogs. I like bigger dogs. Alot of the smaller dogs ive come in ... [snip!] ... meeting him. my daughter. It definitely depends on the owner. But some dogs are just not as great with kids as others. "
I agree. Not a fan of little dogs. Not to say that they are all bad, but my friends Chihuahua has gotten horrible with age.To the point where she wants to get rid of him because they have 2 young children.
I'm a big pit bull fan, as they have a great ranking on the temperament testing and are known to be great with children
with any dog though, I think it depends on how it was raised, if you are set on a chiauhaha, maybe get one that is a couple years old or one that has been around kids? That way you know it's personality. Otherwise just do some research about what breeds are good with children and rank good in temperament testing.
