What would you do if when you and your SO gets into arguments he calls you things like "Slut" or "Whore" ....?????? Would you leave him over something like that?? What if you were married and its harder to leave, would you still leave??? What would you do? Think of this like a survey question :)

I'd absolutely leave. I could never be with someone who disrespected me like that, married or not.

Nope. My ex and I had loads of fights of him calling me a slut and a whore. I didnt leave him for that. Things were ended for other things.

I think its harder when you have kids together. Doesnt matter if you are married or not. Having kids makes it harder to leave.

Dh has made that mistake before. I just yelled louder and when I had the chance, I pinched the shit out of him.

I would have a good talk with him about the name calling. And if he didn't listen and continued then I would leave. That's verbal abuse and it's not ok.

Me and my so fight like this all the time he occasionally tells me the baby isn't his etc. he just sleeps on the couch for the night and wakes up in the morning and apologises :)

If I was married, I'd suggest he get some counseling because that shit won't fly. You either have mutual respect, or the relationship ends. If it were my BF/SO I'd warn him the first time. If he did it again, I'd leave. I don't allow people to treat me like shit.

Yes I would leave. Name calling is not respectful. I actually see it as verbal abuse.

No, I personally wouldnt. But SO and I are different, we throw low blows at eachother when we fight. We both know we dont mean any of it, were just mad. I know not a healthy relationship at all, but it works for us.

I will never understand why in an argument spouses and/or SO's feel the need to insult one another.

It accomplishes nothing, and why try to hurt the person you supposedly love?

To answer your question though, I let DH call me things like that in the sack. If he were to call me it in an argument, I would most likely turn it into something humorous.

Yeah, my ex used to say that stuff to get to me and hurt me. Id fire back "welp, we can do a dna test. No skin off my back. I know who his dad is." lmao.

I was in a relationship like that for 3 years. Leaving was the best thing I ever did.

DH does that shit. We got into a arguement last night and he called a few choice names, friggin asshole. He's better than he use to be and he always apologizes.I hate to say it but he's a product of his environment. We've known each other and dated on and off since I was 12 and he was 13, now 27 and 29. I remember being at his house a few times when we were teens and either his parents or older brothers would get into it and holy shit the names they would call each other were horrible. I will not leave him because it is actually something he is working on, and I know he loves me and when he calls me those names he feels like shit afterwards.

Uh, so it's ok to physically abuse him?
