*UPDATE*

As I'm sure most of you have seen, I've had a couple troll hits. If there are more, please ignore them as I plan to from this point on. :)

On another note..
Thank you to all the mothers and mothers-to-be who have truly contributed thus far :)
I took a look at the poll results so far and one of us will definitely be happy with the outcome! I'm not saying who, but I will tell once a name is officially chosen!

If you ladies don't mind, I know some of you have already done this, but could you leave a quick comment on why you voted for whichever name on the list? Please and thank you!

Well I just really like the name Willow and the meaning behind it :)
And didn't really like any of the others lol

LMFAO!

We're "trolls" because we don't like the names you have chosen? We gave you opinions and valid reasoning's as to WHY we don't like them. That's called advice there sweetcheeks. If that's all it takes to offend you, then I suggest you take your butt off the internet because that is just pathetic.

You gave your opinion but that wasn't enough. You keep arguing like your opinion is actually fact and it's not. Just let it go. She heard your opinion, what more do you have to prove? Why do you care so much? You are literally attacking her over HER name choices. Just let it be, damn....

I picked Abigail. My second choice would be either Kaitlyn or Willow.

Not trying to be mean, but Devlyn just makes me think of "devil-in", in case you hadn't thought of that.

How was what I said NOT fact. Cadence IS a word - Devlin IS a masculine name, I would know, I study anthroponymy. It IS fact, lol. I didn't give any opinions after that - I'm not a troll. I never said she COULDN'T use those names on whatever gender she wanted, I just gave her the information I have. And yes - if you're going to use a word, at least spell it correctly because you WILL look illiterate.

Don't put your crap out there on a public forum if you don't want honest opinions. When someone replies to a thread I have posted in, I look - sue me.

I didn't say you were a troll, and I normally have no problems with you. I just feel like you're bullying her. You gave your opinion now let it be and let her make an informed decision. Don't bully her.
Any word can be used as a name. If you look up Cadence and Caydence they are both considered names.
Sure it's a word spelled "cadence". I never said that wasn't fact.
What isn't fact is that it's NOT a name.

Devlin or Devlyn are both boy names so you're right about that but Devlyn spelled that way is still a name so there's something else you're wrong about.

It can be your opinion that someone shouldn't use those spelling but that doesn't mean those names don't exist...

So it's not okay for her to reply to someone calling her a troll but it's okay for the OP to do so because she doesn't like her opinion? I could go to pretty much any shitty baby name website and add the word couch as a name and people would start saying it's a name. Just because babynames.com says something is a name doesn't mean that is legitimate. Words can be used as names sure, but when you f**k with the spelling it makes it look like you can't spell. She can spell whatever she wants however she wants but she can't expect everyone to just pat her on the back and throw glitter because of it. She flipped out because someone didn't like the names that she likes, and continued acting immature by throwing around the word troll multiple times. If someone can say "Oh Caydence is cute" then Lola should be able to say that Caydence looks dumb and it's supposed to be spelled Cadence.

OP. Abigail and Willow are lovely. Most of the other names are trendy and overused. I really dislike names with y's in them, so if you insist on using Devlin spell it with an I. The y doesn't make it look more feminine just makes it look trendy since everyone likes throwing Y's in the middle of names.

I honestly think that Abigail or Willow would be the best choices, they will grow well with your child and they are beautiful.

OHmygoddddddd I'm not trying to argue with anyone I'm trying to STOP an argument. I never said she was a troll or that she shouldn't have responded to OP saying that or that OP was right in saying that. But she said her peace in the first comment and that should have been it. Obviously OP has different beliefs than her and that's fine. It doesn't mean that what she says is FACT though. Just because cadence is a word doesn't mean that's how the NAME is spelled. And it's not just one person if you look at popularity there are thousands with that name every year.
And yes, people name their kids all kinds of crazy things. I'm sure there is someone out there named Couch or similar. We all know celebrities love those crazy names. But that's my point. Anything can be a name! WHATEVER you choose. Just because it sounds dumb to some people doesn't make it NOT a name.

I agree with this. I don't like Devlin period, but either way it's still a boy name and the "y" doesn't change that.

Abigail without question. My next choice would be Caitlin <--- spelled that way.
