How hard do you think it would be to get your tubes tied while you are single, 22 and have 2 kids? Also does anybody know if medical card pays for it?

I have a friend who is single, 21, and has two kids. They tied her tubes no problem. Her medical card paid for it.

They tied mine too after I had my second DD. Medical card covered it. I was only 21 at the time. I'm married tho

I just don't want anymore kids and to risk becoming a single mom again. Like I'm done.....I'm in over my head right now.

It depends on the Dr and the insurance. Some Dr's will do it at a certain age, others won't. Being single they are a lot less likely, but you'll just have to look around. Also, most medical covers it but again, they can have requirments. They may require a class first, or an approval or something.

/sigh I guess time to do my research. SO and I just had a conversation about this. He doesn't want me to just jump into it but I don't want to risk doing this again. I can't do this again. I can barely handle two kids on my own. How would I handle more?

This may be true, but the fact is that IUD's have almost the same failure rate as tying your tubes. This means doing an IUD is just about as effective, but isn't permanent. I know my OB offered me that. If you just can't handle more NOW, maybe an IUD is a great option for you. Getting your tubes tied is a major thing and you don't want to go into it because of fear or other emotions.

I know after having my daughter (preemie) I wanted to get it done. I was so upset about it that I just wanted my tubes tied because I couldn't go through that again. I am not glad I didn't because I know have my son. It wouldn't have been the right time to make sure a drastic choice.

I think you should really think it over. The fact is that if you REALLY want it done, getting an IUD and giving it a few years won't hurt but WILL give you time to really evaluate it.

I had mirena and my uterus didn't tolerate it. Like all I did was cramp up. They won't even let me try paragaurd because of how bad my cramps were. :( They said it could have something to do with my c-section scar and it irritating it too :( Also any other BC is out since I always end up pregnant.
