I would imagine alot of people wouldn't be able to spell Madeleine right. I love the spelling though

Quoting kthx.:" I know, it just looks so weird to me. Sort of juvenile. Well, it's good to know others will pronounce it Mad-uh-lyn :D"

That's the vibe I get from it also.

Quoting kthx.:" Okay so... SO said he likes the name (pronounced) Mad-Uh-Lynn. I strongly dislike Madalyn/Madalynn.... ... [snip!] ... Madalyn? I like the NN Maddie  Maddie Sue 8) I'm sure this will change, btw.... but it's just a thought right now, lol."

I like Madeline. I don't like it spelled Madelynn either. Madalyn looks "Mad-uh-lin". I guess it depends on how you pronounce it. I prefer Madeline(Mad-uh-line).

I always pronounce Madeline/Madeleine as mad-ah-lyn unless I'm correct otherwise.

Madalyn and all those other spellings with a Y are ugly to me, it ruins the name.

NO, lol, it's not.

Technically-

Madeleine = mad-ah-len (confirmed by my francophone friends)

Madeline = both mad-ah-line and mad-ah-lyn, both are correct.

It might have to do with accent.
