Feeling discouraged.. Emily Ann Anita Sobczyk 1 child; Hampshire, Illinois 115 posts

I know I am only 37 weeks and some change and my baby still has plenty of time to bake but I am really starting to feel discouraged that he will never come.

Most of my "discouragement" comes from knowing that I have no progress in dilation, I know he hasn't even "dropped" yet, I barely have any contractions, etc. and I feel that by this far along that there would be at least something or some sort of progress.

I know a lot of it has to deal with the anticipation of his arrival and the excitement that comes with it and maybe that is why I am struggling so much with the idea.

But now I am just looking for some encouraging stories from other moms-to-be that felt the same way or had the same results that I currently have and had there baby in "no time".

Hope to hear from some of you.

Everyone definitely gets there if they make it that far :) my son(my first baby) was 8 days late! I was so sore and anxious! My daughter(2nd baby) was 6 days early. But with madeline I had to be induced due to low water. Just hang in there :) take lots of baths, they always helped my pregnancy aches at the end of the day!

Eh. I'm right there with you. Except I have no clue if I'm making progress and I've been contracting semi-regularly for 4 weeks. I have horrid pressure. But my doc hasn't checked me, so I kinda feel like I'm having all the pain for nothing

You can go from nothing to something in the matter of hours! He will come. It may not be until you are 40 weeks and then some, but....He will come! They all decide to come out sometime, and if not...There are things doctors can do to give him a little bit of encouragement. Have you asked about getting your membranes stripped? It could definitely help move things along.

I was so annoyed and discouraged and couldn't wait for DD to get out. I went for my 40 week check up and I hadn't made any progress so the dr started to do the membrane sweep and found out DD's presenting part were her feet. I was schedualed for a c/s the next day.

What I'm trying to say is the waiting sucks but one way or another they do come out.
