Well, you have a severe lack of good judgment and its probably a good thing that you're not an employer.
This woman is 30 years old and can't figure out when and where is the right time and place to put across her sense of humor. I'm barely 20 (with a similar sense of humor [though, not that extreme]) and I know better than that.

I would think that would have been fairly public knowledge if that had been the case by now.

Maybe, maybe not but that doesnt answer my question. Would you find it disrespectful then?

No because I think flipping off the camera is not a disrespectful action. If someone takes offense to it that is their right. However i'm not going to fire a decent employee over that. I think too often we are willing to bend everytime someone shows offense to something in todays society.

She broke the rules and it would really look bad on their company to let her stay considering they are a company for veterans.

You have no idea who I am or what I do in my life however. Perhaps I am, and perhaps I am not, but you really don't know for sure either way.

At my work we've been told that if we put them down as our employer EVERYTHING we post on FB is representing the company and we will be monitored.

I haven't read the rest of this thread- read this and decided I'm going to say something to you.
First of all, she's not flicking off a camera, she is flicking off a sign at the ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY that is asking for silence and respect. We both know this.
Secondly, "we are willing to bend every time someone shows offense in todays society"? ---oh dear God. I'm on my fourth very large glass of wine and it's so damn hard to not to say bad things. Okay, okay- I'm good.
Are you out of your damn mind? Do you realize where she is at? I don't give two fucking shits if she doesn't support our troops- which she probably does considering her apology to the public once this shit went crazy.
The men that are buried in that cemetery, that tomb, those bodies, are all there because they served this country.. those are my brothers, those are my sisters, how fucking dare you say that shit. They didn't get there because they batted their eyelashes, they got there because they fought wars. They watched the people around them die. One day they're fighting for the rights of every single fucking American, the next they're gone... because of an IED, or a landmine, or a German soldier, or the VC, or the Taliban, or a grenade.
And your puny tiny little brain cannot conceive the fact that she's fucking disrespecting our nations most courage men and women?
I seriously want to blow up on you right now. Take my place for two seconds. Say you are a United States Marine and went into a war zone at 19 years old. See the shots firing at you, but because you can't make eye contact- you can't fire back. Say you saw a fucking car full of bombs.. and you're just waiting for the trigger man to push the right button to blow up the people that have become your family. Would you say "flicking off camera then"? Just a fucking camera?

Alright- I'm going to finish my glass of wine. Fuck this shit.
