ok, this may be kinda confusing. when AF showed up for Sept, it was on the 11th (easy to remember). then Oct's came on the 12th (thought that was kinda funny, in an odd way). therefore, those 2 were 31 days apart. though they are usually 25-30 days apart (usually closer to 30) i didn't worry much because it had happened a couple of times before. rare, but had happened. well, AF was 35 days after Oct's and i freaked out. now, before you give me the whole "if you were having unprotected sex, then you could be pregnant" speech, this is not one of those. one day in the shower, DH came on my tits, i worried some dripped down. i've heard that its rare but can happen that way. well, after 3 days of going crazy, AF decided to finally show herself.
now my questions:
-can you actually get pregnant from contact with sperm if nothing "solid" (for lack of a better word) penatrates (sp) the vagina?
-have you ever been 5 or more days late for now reason after having normal periods up until then?
btw, i'll be 6 months PP on Sat. i've had rather regular periods since about 2 wks after i stopped BF, so around 1 month- 1 1/2 PP.
I had normal cycles before this one. 46 days, and the last 18 were torture.

OMG! i'd go nuts, just the 5 were driving me crazy! i did a dollar store test- negative, urine test at clinic- negative, blood test at clinic- they said would take 24 hrs (just waiting that long had my nerves shot). went up to get the results just for them to tell me the sample had gotten lost between the clinic and the hospital! so i opted to got to the other hospital and get a test that would get me the results quicker. were told at the hospital that it should take 45 mins. 3 hrs later, the clinic finally gets it and calls me to say its negative. still AF didn't show till the next morning. the whole time i was thinking that if i wasn't pregnant then something is wrong. still kinda thinking that.
You can get pregnant if sperm enters the vag. You don't need to be penetrated for that to happen lol
Cycles can take awhile to normalize after having a baby and after stopping breastfeeding. I wouldn't worry about it.

but they seemed relatively normal since, till now.
It could be stress or other factors delaying ovulation. You're actually getting your period, it's just later than usual. That suggests either delayed ovulation or a longer leuteal phase. It could also be anovulation (meaning you didn't ovulate) and you're having breakthrough bleeding.
If you go longer than 35 days between cycles for more than a few in a row, I'd see the doctor.

i've heard stress can cause you to be late but i've never had it happened and am nowhere near as stressed as i've been before. idk why but i wouldn't have thought it was serious enough to see a doc about... I've had friends go 2 or 3 months without one for no known reason.
