So I have been going to school, its mainly cake decorating/pastry & I love it! I have never said that about anything. Ive done medical front office, some billing, phlebotomy, & clerical and hated it. I mean I did well in school and when I found jobs I hated them. Ive only done two cakes so far, they're kind of cheesy but its mainly to practice with buttercream. I just wanted to share since DH is still at work and well Im alone eating hot pockets.

This was my first

I know I still need lots of practice but I did just start. Thanks for looking!

I actually really like the first one..it looks like a professional cake decorator did that one..the second one is a tad bit cheezy but only for the fact that the lines look a little shaky...other then that they look great!

Thanks yeah thats how I feel about them as well. I get so used to working with royal icing the whole week and when I switch to butter cream or pastry pride, (which is what that is not what I posted in the OP), I get confused and use too much pressure.

JEALOUS! I'd love to do this as a job and you're really good!
I make them when I'm not working (I hate stupid office crap too) and make solid sugar animals and people cake toppers :) TOO FUN!

My son's 1st birthday is Saturday and I'm trying to make a Finding Nemo cake :/

I'd love to find a job doing this but if not I'm still happy that I took this course. I won't be finished till next June so I still have a ways to go. & uhh take pics, I'd love to see how it turns out!

You can always do it on the side and make more money for events - I invented a chocolate cake recipe somehow and am regularly asked to make and sell them for birthdays and stuff.
The Nemo cake will be crap - I planned it all out but Thanksgiving was thrust upon me this year and I have to arrange my son's first birthday on Saturday. I'll try to put a pic up on my wall.

It's on Saturday so I have tonight to make the cake  because I'll be cooking all day tomorrow whilst babysitting 3 other kids (thanks mother for throwing that on me last minute). I see this cake being a massive blob of icing and Nemo figures :? lol
