I was healed up by a week and a half. The stitches fell out.

had sex today at 3 weeks postpartum. stupid on many levels. absolutely no protection. did not feel good at all, very painful afterwards (had no tears or even grazes). think i'm gonna wait to try again.

Yeah same, they dissolve and fall out. I wasn't sore after they came out so I did the deed. I had a second degree tear.

I didn't know either until I wiped and saw a string looking thing. I just took it slow.

i didn't have stitches with my 2nd or 3rd baby's. after my first i think we still waited until around 5 weeks or so. i'm not sure how many stitches i had after my 1st, but it was only a 1st degree tear so probably not many

You all may not realize - but they say to wait because if you do get an infection (slight but real chance) it can travel through your blood stream & become sepsis - the 2nd leading cause of death to hemmorhage. It's not like a yeast infection we are talking risking her e -it is like deadly infection & I actually do know someone who got an infection. I don't know if she waited or not (and I am certainly not going to ask that now), but I know she was in a coma by 5 weeks & woke up 4 months later with no limbs - no joke, from an infection she got in her uterus that went to her blood. You can also get what is called an air embolism & that can cause heart attack or stroke & instant death. I know I sound like someone's old gramma Debbie Downer - but for real - there is no sex good enough to risk that even if the risk is 1 in 10,0000 or something. None. I am dead serious that she held her baby at 5 weeks & will never hold that baby again. So yeah - knowing he r- no way on earth did a p***s come near me until 6 weeks.
