No. Suck it up. The baby will come when it's good and ready.

Unless medically necessary they won't induce. If the do without a reason... I'd be iffy on the doctor.

Many will probably attack you for wanting to be induced, but..I understand your pain. Some on this website like to say you're selfish for not wanting to experience excruciating pain and meet your baby. But...It is up to you! You can talk to her about induction, but every doctor is different. If she does induce you, it will probably be around...39 or so weeks.

You are not full term yet, just let the baby bake, your due date could be off by as much as 2 weeks. More you being uncomfortable than your baby being in the NICU, its not fun to watch your baby suffer, ive been through it twice.

It IS selfish if it's not medically necessary. The due date can be off by up to two weeks, the baby is still developing, inductions can lead to other issues. :?

Just a warning you are going to get a LOT of negative comments to this... but most likely your doctor will refuse, they shouldn't induce you until 40 weeks at the earliest usually 42 weeks and any earlier there's usually a medical necessity. As painful and hard as it is (believe me I know it was CRAZY bad for me towards the end, I had horrible sciatica and my early labor contractions lasted almost a week and were really painful) it's worth it in the end. Just focus on getting everything ready for your LO have lots of sex with you SO (they'll have to do most of the work since it gets rather hard and uncomfortable towards the end) and it should start naturally. I was sooo worried DS was going to come late (since he is my 1st and I was my moms first and I was late) but he ended up coming 3 days early :) (even tho he had to come via emergency c section cuz of his big ol head)

Hang in there! and Best of Luck!

Suck it up. Your baby needs to stay in there for as long as possible. Don't be selfish.

It isn't selfish. Get off the high horse. It's not like she's doing meth or heroine, she's in pain and if you can't understand being in pain and wanting it to be over, then your pregnancy must have been a cake walk.

This is how my office works:
If this is your first pregnancy, they won't induce until you are 42 weeks unless the baby's life or your life is in danger.
For subsequent pregnancies, they will deliver at 39 weeks or later for any reason.

It IS selfish. Who cares if she's in pain if it isn't life-threatening? Isn't the baby's health more important?

her pregnancy wasn't necessarily a cake walk... mine was crazy painful and towards the end especially and I just really wanted him to come, but I do think I would've been selfish if I hadn't waited (which I did and he ended up coming before his due date anyways) I wouldn't have wanted to risk anything being wrong with my son. I could, however, see getting induced at 41 weeks not waiting until 42..
