You are right, it probably wouldn't. I just got it beat into my head that everything has to follow the rule of thirds. My photography teacher would be proud. haha

:!:

Something like this would just look... weird using the rule of thirds.

And once you know what the rules of photography are, it's pretty easy to learn how to acceptably break them.

I think you're looked awesome Kalaina. :D

Yeah that's exactly why I don't like photography schooling. Beats the creativity straight out of the individual.

I loved my classes, but sometimes I get too stuck on the "rules".

HAHA. Yes.

Pretty much any art school, unless you go to the school or have teachers that know how to guide you without squashing your creativity.

That's why I decided to not go to school for photography.

2 biggest pet peeves about photography school:
1. Beats the creativity out of the individual
2. Makes people think that they can learn the talent and craft.

So far, haven't seen a school/class like that. I took a class at my old school just to get an arts elective taken care of. (Mind you I had already been in business for over a year at that point) and they did not like me because I just couldn't bring myself to do some of the stuff.

True, I don't consider myself a photographer, even though I got an AA in Art. Most of my classes were photography related. I like to shoot in black and white, and my teacher always got upset because of that. I mean obviously I passed his class, but he didn't like the fact that I mostly turned in black and white photographs.

That and I don't do it as a job, I just do it as a hobby.

I have never taken a photography/visual arts class of any kind with a professor of that sort.

However, I do have my BFA in acting. Some of my teachers were absolutely incredible at finding out the balance between teaching and guiding to your personal creativity, and the methods that work for you.

Again, I really like the photo itself. It's just the line on the right being perpendicular, and the line on the left being slanted.... drives me nuts. :( I'm sorry.

Im playing with the background, seeing it looks better with no lines by cloning them out. :D

Thank you!
