Quoting March 2013:" Wic can only issue checks on the appointment dates. Nothing after or before. I do both breast feeding ... [snip!] ... your baby going. If your doing both then you get half the formula of what a mother would if she is doing full formula baby."

Thats not the case here. If you have to switch before your checks run out, they take the old ones and give you new ones.

Quoting Love = Moco and Bubba:" You would have to wait until your appointment. Keep in mind that it will not be all the formula your baby needs so you would still have to buy formula. "

Yeah, I knew they didn't give you the full amount you would need. It helps a lot though. The twins I used to take care of got WIC, and their mother told me she had to buy a few extra cans a month.

at mine they print black checks in place of the formula and you can get formula pretty quick. they told me to call at any time or walk in if i couldnt breastfeed. they give you tons of extra stuff like 6 cans of tuna all the normal milk cheese and eggs that you would have gotten while pregnant. it really is a life saver for me and has helped me stay healthy while i nurse
