Salt always takes over the need for sweets. Try some salted veggie chips or peanuts...... It'll help a little bit. I always reach for a banana when I'm craving my reeses peanut butter cups lol.

Okay so you know that the meds can cause it will what about telling yourself that you can only do one serving of it. Most food servings sizes aren't armful to the body its when people go over the serving sizes because some bars have like 2 serving sizes that kind of thing. So try and limit it. Break off small pieces and get the 1 serving size then put the rest up and say okay when this is gone if I want something else it will be healthy for me.

I recently developed this problem because of my GD. I don't want to be put on insulin so I eat healthy during the day and test my sugars the way I'm supposed too.. Then after dinner, when I don't have to check my sugars for the rest of the night, it's a free for all on anything sweet and chocolate...



I'm awful :(

You aren't on trazadone are you? That stuff used to make me eat from a half hour after I took it until I fell asleep. Some medications can make you do that, so if you can't rid the source (medication or otherwise) rid yourself of the junk food. Or eat it during the day because you are more likely to burn calories then.

we don't really have much food in the house - but we have snacks for the kids. that's what i end up binging on :oops: its said, i know. I just get obsessed with the idea of eating.

your kids could always eat healthy snacks. Celery sticks with peanut butter, apples, bananas, baby carrots with ranch, pistachios, raisins, granola bars, yogurts are all very delicious snacks that you could keep in your house to replace that junk food snacks.

Sounds to me like throughout the day you're not getting satisfied. Maybe try chocolate flavored Quaker rice cakes, chocolate granola bars, etc occasionally throughout the day so that by night you're not desperately craving those things?

I will give that a shot. I don't eat much during the day at all, so this is entirely plausible. I could even try just eating more fruits and whole grains throughout the day, and more veggies with dinner
