My daughters pedi said it doesn't STOP a child from getting chicken pox..just lessens the severity of it when they get it. I'm still debating it because I got them at 3 and I was fine, my SO hasn't gotten it and it can be really dangerous if adults get it..My dad ended up sterilized from getting them from me..plus as an adult they are 10 times worse.
Not getting the vaccine. I had chicken pox as a child and supriseeeee i lived!
Quoting TantricLemons:" I read about a mom on here who's 19 month old got the shingles. He hadn't had the pox, but had the vaccine. ... [snip!] ... the pox doesn't kill you so there is no reason to risk the vaccine. So not worth injecting toxic chemicals into my kids body."
I've had chicken pox and shingles and so hasn't my husband. I honestly don't see the benefit of the vaccine I wont be doing it or the flu shot. I've always said im not going to vaccinate my child with something I wouldn't do to myself and neither of those 2 would I put in my body. I have 5 nephewsall under the age of 8 im sure one of them at least is going to get chicken pox even if they are vaccinated (im not sure if they all are) so what's the point?? No judgement for people who do it its just not worth it if u ask me.:)
I didn't even know there was a vaccine for chicken pox! me and all three of my sisters and my brother all caught chicken pox at the same time. we were all aged 1, 3, 4, 11 and 14. and we were all fine, we have a few scars but that's the worst thing that happened! lol. I've never EVER heard of anyone getting serioulsy ill from chicken pox?
<blockquote><b>Quoting Bryelle's Mommy:</b>" Did you know that if u naturally get chicken pox you are susceptible for shingles when your older where if u get the vaccine you are not? That's why my lo is getting it... :-)"</blockquote>
