Skipping second hep b vaccine? W.W. 3 kids; Arkansas 7878 posts

DH and I have decided to hold off on the hep b, but LO already received the first shot at birth. We should have educated ourselves sooner on what we wanted. Does anyone know how this will affect the first part of the vaccine? Is it usually a problem with pediatricians? Her one month appt is today, is there any other vaccines commonly given at this point? I cant remember anything from when our first two were newborns when it comes to vaccines ..unfortunately.

1) decreases effectiveness of first vaccine

2) some pedis will tell you to find a new pedi if you refuse to vaccinate, this is becoming an increasingly common practice as anti-vax subculture continues to grow and the medical community is starting to view it as a public health threat

If your intent is to delay some vaccines, just tell them that instead of letting them think you're not going to do it at all. I don't think most pedis would have a problem with that

My pedi sent out a paper that said they are pro-vaccines and if we are not find a new dr that shares our views.
I'm not sure about the first question though.

This is why i don't have a pedi yet,Because i'm having hard time to find one that doesn't want to SHOVE vaccinating down our throats. We're not completely against them, but there's a few i refuse to give my child including hep b and dtap. To name a couple.

I'm still uneducated on all vaccine's. So don't take my advice lol. Just do what you think is best for your LO hun. We've been looking into it since i was pregnant. So now i'm just trying to delay the others for awhile.
