I put the warning to be on the safe side. I already called my doc and he pretty much wrote me off so I figured I'd come here. Please no bashing I'm already scared enough, I don't need the rest.

Back story:
AF started yesterday, a week late.
I got one positive a bunch of negatives after, but I *think* the pos was defective
Tylenol is barely taking the edge off my cramps
I'm passing mini clots and bleeding bright red

Ok. To my question, can someone tell me the difference you felt between a miscarriage and a really bad period.

Please and thank you. I'm trying not to freak out :(

When i had my miscarriage the cramps were so bad a heating pad wasn't even helping much, it just felt different from my normal period.

My early miscarriage wasn't any different than a bad period for me but I've always had HORRIBLE periods. As for my miscarriage at 11 weeks, THAT was painful.

Honestly there's not much physical difference. The only way to know for sure would be an ultrasound. Not the answer you want I know, but they're pretty much physically the same. Except with a MC you're expelling a small embryo along with the lining.

If you really want to know, I recommend getting your HCG levels checked.

Miscarriages can vary person to person, so unless you get it confirmed, it is possible you won't know the difference.

Thanks for all the answers ladies.

If it is a miscarriage, how will I know if I passed everything? I don't want to not pass everything and get infected. Would I need an ultrasound to know that too?

Make an appointment with your OB and go from there.
