Binge eating/overeating and purging Faye's Mama 1 child; Kansas City, Missouri 4559 posts

I have trouble with binge eating/overeating and then purging.

Like yesterday, I was doing really well on my diet. And then all of the sudden, I was reaching for the leftover Halloween candy followed by the last cookies in the cupboard. Downed that all with a glass of water and I purged.

I can't seem to stop. I do it without thinking. Today I had a good lunch (after my first purge), went to class, and then afterwards I ran off to the Vietnamese market to buy a bahn mi sandwich and a custard bread and downed that with a canned coffee. Once I got back to school, I ran to the private bathroom and purged.

Are there any tips to keep myself in line? I am fine most days, its just the past ones have been kind of bad. I even will sometimes purge a normal meal, usually dinner.

You really need to speak to a doctor

I don't think that's something you can manage on your own. I would see your doctor to be referred to a therapist :(

You should get some help, bulimia can be hard to overcome on your own.

He's probably the first person you should tell. Then go to your doctor and he can refer you to someone. You'll feel better if you are not facing this alone.

Would he not be supportive & want to help you get better?

I'll try and build up the courage soon. He is the only one I have to hide this from and with him working, he makes it too easy.

See a therapist, always be honest about it, the more you lie and hide the easier it is to keep doing. It's one of the worst addictions you can have because unlike drugs, alchol, gambling you have to eat to live. I'm praying for you and anyone else with an eating disorder. It can literally be hell on earth when not dealt with. I promise though, if you mentally and physically want to change it you can. Except your body, tell your husband and family and let them help you with it as well as doctor and therapist.
