When do I need to pre-register at the hospital? Do I just go up to L&D and fill out paper work? I don't remember pre registering with my first. Also, when am I supposed to register for the epidural? When is the deadline?
I would also like to know this..
I did all of this around 15 weeks. My doctor gave me all the paperwork for it.
I did it all at 30 weeks. I didn't need any paperwork, I just went to the registration desk at the hospital. I don't know about the epidural process though, I've never done that.
Anytime after 26 weeks for the hospital. And I never had to register for an epidural with either of mine, so idk...
I'm 34wks and my Dr hasn't said anythingto e about any of this. This is my first baby so now this concerns me,
I just printed off the paperwork from online. I never pre registered for an Epidural and never how heard of having to do so.
I am already registered because I went into labor at 32 weeks and had to be admitted for a few days. I have never heard of having to be registered for an epidural. I went in with my first swearing I would not have 1 and after 6 hours of pitocin induced contractions I just could not take it anymore after they broke my water and I got one. They did ask if I wanted one this time and I told them maybe but that I would not know till the time comes.
Do you mean signing the paperwork for the epidural? There's no paperwork for it besides signing a consent form. I did that with my pre registration papers.
Ahhh there's the answer to my questions. Lol. Thank you ladies.
I'm delivering at St. Vincent and they said 34-36 weeks.(:
My OB provided me with all of the papers I needed & gave me an address to mail it all in to. I also had to watch a 10 minute video on epidural & sign a paper stating that I watched it & understood any risks the epidural may have.
I did mine at 35 weeks, they also made us take a childbirth "class". That's where we filled out our paperwork. There is no deadline though, it's not like if you went there in labor they'd be like "oh no, sorry we can't let you have your baby here because you didn't fill out the paperwork" lol They would just have you sign in there. They just suggest you do it ahead of time because it makes everything a bit easier.
And you don't register for the epidural...you just sign a consent for anesthesia.
Here the doctor preregisters you.
