Call and ask if they'll refer you to the chiro. Or see if your insurance will do a preauthorization route. My dd fell off the couch and her neck stopped hurting but I still took her in to the chiro and she had a couple vertebrae rotations in her neck. If you don't get stuff put back in place your muscles develop a bad memory and then it's a bitch to get it to ever go back. That's why my Lower back is so screwey.

Quoting Mel & a girl named Pey:" Boo!!! It could be muscle but it could even be a disc bulging...I would def push for an MRI once you can."

I really think it's a pulled muscle because I do get them from time to time. I'm a flipping flopper sleeper and wake up in some really weird positions, LOL

Alternate between cold and hot.

It could be a problem with my back, my spine is curved but it's not from scoliosis. When I was a kid I snapped my collerbone but my grandparents didn't take me to a DR until a month later when I slipped and rebroke it in a new place. It healed all wrong and they couldn't rebreak it to set it so my right shoulder naturally hangs lower than my left. It puts a lot of pressure on my spine on one side and the cartelidge is wearing away uneven. but it hasn't been an issue before and I don't think something major could happen overnight though.

We have military insurance, it won't cost anything if I go to the ER but you can't make appointment with any of the specialty clinics without a referral from a DR. I refuse to pay out of pocket.

Good luck. SO doesn't have insurance so it's nice that it only costs us $35 when he goes. He used to be a mover so his back is screwey. Luckily it's getting better since stopping that job. But it did some major damage.
