You didn't answer my question. So you've been on approx 22 flights where children where injured?

I've NEVER been on a plane where ANYONE was injured and I've flown just as many times as you have...

Me too, but I have yet to encounter an issue flying ever. I'm more likely to trip while wearing my child and break his head than hurt him by wearing him on an airplane.

I would be willing to be it's more likely your kid contract some kind of illness from other passengers than they get hurt because they were a lap child.

[snip!] ... against flying with a lap child- you do know that they make seatbelts for the lap child, right? You just have to ask for one."</blockquote>

It's simply a point.

You are likely to survive even the most horrible crashes, BUT do you think your kid would survive this if they were riding on your lap?

EVERYONE in this crash survived:

Who knows? Can you guarantee your kid would survive if they were in a car seat? And like another mom said, what if you needed to get your kid OUT? What if something caught fire AFTER the crash and you had to get your kid out of the carseat?

There are a lot of "what ifs", but we don't go around NOT doing shit because "what if" something happens.

I would never have my kid in my lap. No, I haven't flown with my kids and I really don't plan on it, but if I did, I'd fork out the money for the extra seat.

I saw a few pages back a back and forth about driving. I don't know if anyone factors in wildlife when they drive, but you can be the greatest driver in the world. It doesn't mean a thing when an animal jumps in front of your vehicle or in my case, stands in the middle of a poorly lit area of the interstate.

So, what, a narwhal's gonna leap out of the ocean, take a majestic flying leap, and spear an airplane with it's horn?

I'm 100% for car seats on planes but this made me spit my drink out.
