And was prescribed cipro (sp?) for a bladder infection. In my urine I had a level that was very high that usually indicates gallstones or dehydration. Since I didn't have 'severe' stomach pain he ruled out gallstones and checked my kidneys back and front. One was tender from the front at the top of my kidney. He said f it's still like that in a week after I'm done with my antibiotics to come back because then they'll have to check me for kidney stones :( he said that the fact that I have a bladder infection a week after finishing anti biotics for a bladder infection isn't a good sign. Ugh I'm scared :(

Have any of you taken cipro? And what was your experience with it? He said he gave me a high dose (500 mg I think?) and said its gonna make me feel worse before I feel better. Bleh

Like the whole time you were on it? Did you take food with it or anything?

The first couple days. I was on it for an infection from being constipated. And I always took it with food

Most antibiotics do that to me though! I just remember this specific one did it bad

It is strong, i've been on it more than i'd say 10-15times.
Should work.
I made me nauseous, but I took anti nausea meds with it to help with that.

I have been on it several times for a uti and it never bothered me. I didn't get sick with it or anything. It always seemed to work for me too. Best of luck to you.

I was prescribed something for a bladder infection while I was pregnant with our son and I think it was cipro. I stopped taking it after the first dose because it turned me into a psycho. I went crazy over losing a video game with my husband. It was then I decided to read the side effects lol. I'm allergic to almost every antibiotic in the book so it didn't surprise me to get one of the more rare side effects. My sisters are all the same way. Makes life difficult.

I sure hope it wasn't cipro because they kept asking me over ad over if I was sure I wasn't pregnant because 'cipro hurts babies'

I'm sorry to make it seem it was just cipro!

Fairly certain that's what it was. It said not to take during the first or third trimesters. *shrug* I just took cranberry pills and it was gone 2 days later. I didn't want to take any medicine while I was pregnant anyway.

Nope, not the same thing. I had cipro a couple months AFTER my son was born. I looked for the bottle in the cabinet. I didn't take much of it either but don't remember why now. I'm allergic to so many things I lose track :? Now I wonder what it was that he gave me for that bladder infection.
