Quoting aperkins:" I can't see how he is being logical. Its not like he didnt have a choice on having sex. IT sounds like ... [snip!] ... once. That means they are both responsibile. What if she had plans to finish school and go to college. The road goes both ways."

Exactly if a guy isn't ready to be a father then they need to keep that dick put up,until they are. It's his fault just as much.

Do you honestly believe that a 17 year old boy "made the decision" to have sex? Please, kids will be kids. If she had plans for her future life than she could have taken measures to prevent the pregnancy as well.

I think when I'm trying to get at here is the fact that I have seen a lot of teenage boys have to drastically altar their lives because a young woman decided it would be fun to have a baby, not use protection, or stop taking their birth control.

If you are willing to get pregnant at a young age you should be prepared to handle the pregnancy and consequences of it on your own.

In this case I honestly believe that if this young woman wants her child that is fantastic, but kids tend to fool themselves into thinking that their high school relationship is going to last forever.

Are you serious? Who else would make the decision? He is the owner of the dick that got her pregnant!

Could he not use a condom. Did she force him to lay in the bed. I'm not say this young lady didnt have a part in it and neither is she. I'm saying they both made a choice to have sex. And they both are responsible

This is something you and I clearly are not going to see eye to eye on. I think that kids make silly choices that they generally aren't ready to deal with. Of course he got her pregnant, but she also let him, and she should have thought ahead of time to check and make sure that the person she was having sex with would be a responsible father BEFORE she had sex with him.

I agree, they are both responsible. But unfortunately only one person is truly stuck with the consequences. So I think that women have to be extra careful.

the woman should be careful and we dont know for sure if they used some type of protect that failed. I think if he decideds to not be in the picture he should be forced to help in some way.

In reference to what she said, he said something about not being able to provide for them. If he doesn't want a kid that he can't afford to have, how is that NOT practical? Maybe he's smart enough to realize how difficult it'll be.
Maybe he's less concerned with what's best for the baby and more concerned with his own future
