<blockquote><b>Quoting Kati Iss Rollinn:</b>" Because leaving the girl you got pregnant or forcing her to get an abortion no matter what age,is so right. That makes alot of sense."</blockquote>

You know what DOES make sense? The fact that he can't FORCE her into anything. Just as she can't FORCE him into parenting a kid he doesn't want.
How is this escaping you?

Ding ding ding.
While I disagree and DO think he obviously made the decision to have sex, the rest I agree with.

I'm not sure about this one either. I think there is quite a double standard at work here that some people just don't realize is at play.

Yes I'm 17 but I graduated high school last year and the AP credits in class I had got me up to 1 free year of college. This is my second year of college ending now I have 2 years left and with all the support I've been getting I feel that I can have my baby on my own. I was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else and what the outcome was smh...someone answered that yes I will give him time thank you everyone for your comments

If u want to keep this baby then you keep it . Yeah it will be scary at first but you know if the father is going to act like a little boy then he not ready for that responsibility then why would u need him, and maybe u need to give him a little time to think about it . And if you do keep the baby when u first hear the heart beat it changes everything . N you will love every moment it a whole a lot different then it is now .

There is. We should pity a girl for her dude leaving her but we shouldn't pity a guy if he gets stuck parenting, or at the very least financially supporting, a kid he doesn't want?

Best of luck OP. I had my first at 17 and his dad couldn't commit to being a parent. I'm being hard on you because I know how hard its going to be. But with or without him you can be a good mom. It will take a ton of adjustment at your age though.

Riiiiight, for a kid he may not even want. And we're supposed to feel bad for her when she's the one deciding to keep the baby? How wonderfully nonsensical.

Doesn't matter if he doesn't want it. He holds as much responsibility as she does for creating a life.

Other than financially, no he doesn't. Technically he could choose to run off and never meet the kid. As long as he pays.
So no. He doesn't hold nearly as much responsibility as she does. She's the one who will have to work her social life, schooling, career, sleep schedule, hell, even her bathroom time, around this baby.
He's not obligated to do any of those things just because YOU think he should. Try again.

He doesn't have to be there i was merely making a comment to yours with the "run off" ,but he is responsible for paying child support. Or he could sign his rights over if she got married in the future but that's another ball game there.
