I highly doubt the kid is all that sorry. I wish it was otherwise, but I don't just don't believe it. I've kind of tried to hope he was...wishing he was somehow convinced by his older brother or whatever, but I just don't think so in my heart.

Perhaps.
But perhaps he was more in love with the plan than the reality.

IDK. He's not innocent. At all. I guess I just hope there's some part of him that actually does feel bad for what has occurred. *shrugs*

I agree, and the reports say that he and his brother turned radical about a year ago. To me, it sounds like they were recruited by an extremist group. They look for young muslims who have footings and good cover stories in their target areas.

I certainly hopes he feels bad, but I feel like it is far fetched. :(

quite a few of us here think he was egged on by his brother. that he just went along as to not "shame" him.

It's impossible to know as of now. I know the description of him from his former peers in school certainly didn't fit that of some crazy terrorist or anything.

I think he probably looked up to his brother and was influenced by him, but I don't think he'd do something so radical just to prevent letting him down.

So why then did he run over his brother and flee when his brother was killed.. why not give up?
