Quoting Stfu Squirrel:" Then you will have tried it and you'll know. But there's a good chance that won't happen."

My goal is to work for CPS. I want to think I'm making a difference, and my biggest fear is that I wont. Or I'll get too busy to do my job correctly. I'm just scared. I may be able to get in as an aid until I finish my bachelors in Nov. Then I can be a full fledged case worker

Ellie you will be amazing as a CPS worker. What someone important to me told me is that we need to put everything from jobs or families or whatever in a basket out here and not in our hearts. Don't take on what is not ours to take on.

I think it's pretty normal for anyone to be a little nervous about following a big dream. There are always a lot of "what ifs." Working for CPS is one of the heaviest careers I can think of, and you might burn out after a while or you might not. But even if all your worst case scenarios happen like that (they won't), you will have had an opportunity to make a difference to someone. You'll have an opportunity to improve the human condition no matter what. So just run with it.

I hope so. I know that there's so much more to CPS. Having someone listen when you're frustrated, giving out resources such as food, medical help, counseling, etc is sometimes all an overwhelmed parent needs sometimes. But there's also the downside. Of investigating, finding nothing, and then finding out that something really was wrong and you didnt see. :(
