Do you have a midwife? She can help you a lot. Other things you can do are take classes, learn breathing and focus techniques, etc.

Go to birthing classes. Like Bradley or Lamaze. I've read about self hypnosis. Might be worth looking into.

Breathe try to relax (i did word searches to distract me & keep my mind busy) birthing ball & warm showers if allowed (helps with baby getting into position & dilating)

I'm thinking about MAYBE doing a water birth. I've heard a lot of positive experiences on the matter and was wondering the benefits, how it feels, etc.

I found my waterbirths to be amazing...the pain still sucked lol not going to lie there but the warm water was so amazing it really helped me get through each contraction..I was in labor with my daughter for almost 28 hours and spent the whole time in the shower and tub and then had her in the tub she was 8lbs 12oz and only tore a little as they say the water helps reduce the risk of tearing and had my son back in April was only in labor with him for 1 hour 47 mins and he weighed 9lbs 6oz and there was no rips or tears not sure how lol as I am not a big person :) I had my kids in a birthing center where I was allowed to do pretty much anything I wanted to help me and was checked like twice an hour and they checked babys heartrate while in tub or shower i think like ever 15 or 30 mins dont really remember..if its even something your thinking about i would recomend looking into your options like birthing centers and what not..if you have any more questions or just wanna talk feel free to message me :)

i do have a midwife and im thinking about like a hot bath but i dont want to do a water birth, i went though a pregnacy kidney stone and the pain started around 4 in the morning and i didnt go to hostiptal until after my ultrosound which was at 1030 and while i was home the only thing that helped was a hot bath, they said a kidney stone is worse then natural labor, and my midwife thinks i can do natural labor, but i just want more info and stuff on about natural labor, im 26 weeks and trying to figure things out before the time happens.

Water birth us the way to go if u want to go natural. You have to relax and breathe when the contractions really kick in. I have gas and air when I was pushing my wee man out. Am hoping to do the same with this baby. If I can't have a water birth am just goin to use gas and air it's a better recovery. Good luck
