My daughter has been very loving to my tummy/her unborn sister. She "kisses" the baby and "tickles" the baby. It is too cute. She is three. She puts dollies in the baby's crib to share. Sometimes when my back hurts she tells the baby to be nicer to me. LOL. Overall it is just too cute.

Aww cute!:)

Silas isn't old enough to really understand what's happening but he randomly comes up and rubs my belly or hugs it with his face. A couple of times he's said baby while doing either of them. Maybe he understands more than we think!

So, had my appointment to go over what Maternal Fetal saw on the anatomy scan yesterday since my doctor sent it to them for a read since she saw what she thought was placenta accreta. Thank god, it wasn't...but I have a large blood clot behind my placenta. So, they still want to do a lot of ultrasounds to monitor Lola's growth and make sure it keeps functioning well. The MFM doctor did see something else though, that my doctor's office completely missed somehow. Lola has a echogenic bowels, which can mean about a thousand things...or nothing at all. They recommended an amniocentesis, which is scheduled for Friday at 8:30 at the maternal fetal office.

I had two with my older daughter, Gabby - it was how her diagnosis of Turner Syndrome was made. The amnio isn't what scares me...It's getting the results.

Yes that part is scary too. But the procedure itself would scare me as well. What do they think she might have??? LIke what is it exactly?

There are a lot of possibilities. Echogenic bowels, mean that her bowels glow literally as bright as bones do on the ulrasound. It could be anything from a chromosomal problem (that would be diagnosed by the amnio.) to her having swallowed blood.

The procedure itself isn't nearly as scary if you look at YOUR specific doctor's statistics.....the ones they give you over all, are scary and seem almost like a death sentance. My doctor, does 4-5 amnios every day, though. It's what he specializes in. Being that well in practice and knowing what he's doing so well, greatly lowers the risk of anything happening.

oh totally! I think its more the thought of a needle going into my belly that scares me more than anything.
I hope you get some good news soon.
