Yes, plunger handle.

I dunno, I embarrassingly attempted to use it, I got half an oz. and my arm hurts now. At this rate it really will take me two weeks to say up 24 hours worth of milk. For those of you who have been successful with this pump how long did it take you to save up a decent amount of milk? Besides looking... Wow, ridiculous, the task of saving milk seems daunting.

Didn't you just get the hang of breast feeding? I thought they told me milk supply isn't established until 6 weeks. So would that mean you still have plenty of time to get enough milk? I know supplementing would actually help promote lowering your supply. What has a lactation consultant said?

I really feel like you just got the hang of it, so it seems like your baby may just be playing catch up.

Fantastic: Manuals are fine to use. Not for long term or anything but I've used one a few times just for a quick type thing. my WIC office gave me one too. The good electric ones are only for working Moms or those going back to school. I can't imagine they have a ton of money to give SAHMs electric pumps when they should be able to breast feed without one... and if you plan to pump a lot, you can get a cheap electric one for around $50.

Bunni: Hopefully he comes soon but you have a few days left before your "Estimated" due date. But I totally understand. It's 9pm here and noooo sign of anything happening... so on to 40w1d. x-x

I'll trade you tits! Lmao! Mine are over producing at a crazy pace and my nipples re too sorento nurse as often as I need to, so I'm pumping like a mad woman just to relieve engorgment. At least your nips aren't bleeding! Liam's pedi STILL insists I suppliment. I think she is anti bf ... Jaundice is caused by my ebf, he lost 8% birthweight in the first 3 days ... Ugh just stupid

I know I CAN make plenty of milk, if only he would drink it! We just had his tongue tie fixed yesterday and I'm hoping he's just being slow to adjust. He still has such a hard time latching on. Once he does I can tell a huge difference in his suck, but it's just getting him to stay on long enough to do it.

If he hasn't gained 7oz by the time go back to the pedi they will want me to supplement as well, I'm sure. He honestly has MORE trouble with bottles, though, so I just see that leading to gas/colic.

I have a manual pump and I love it. I haven't been pumping cause I'm going to wait till everything is all established I'm already making more than enough if I don't need more! But the other night he slept for 9 straight hrs and I woke up and could barely move I tried hand expressing some and it hurt so I pumped the one side. Then I just kept going out of curiosity to see how much I could get. I got 6oz easily the bag wouldn't hold anymore so I had to stop. I feel so bad when I feed him cause he chokes all the time. And takes it air and then gets gassy..

That's kinda like I am. I pumped the other day to relieve engorgment... I had to switch bottles mid pump session because it was about to overflow. I had 10 oz after a 10 min pump session. CRAZY! No wonder my b**bs hurt so bad lol. My LO chokes too, and he is super gassy. Luckily it doesn't seem to be hurting him because he jdoeant fuss, just passes loud gas lol

That is how I am. I get about an ounce a minute but I haven't had any engorgement. I am wondering where all the milk is coming from! lol. I am not complaining though. I hate getting engorged. I only was engorged for one feed session when my first milk came in. That is it.

Yeah last night I pumped again for about 10 minutes, avoided looking in it while I was doing it so I wouldn't get discouraged. Like half an ounce. He eats plenty, he is going through a major growth spurt and pretty much eats every hour on the hour. This has been going on for 4 days now. But, a friend of mine told me where I can rent an electric pump and from what I heard I should be able to get more milk out with it. I don't want to have to reschedule this stupid dental stuff again. My tooth is already starting to throb again.

Plus I'm getting sad by having to turn down work. Would be nice to do a few gigs next month. SO mother should be here to visit next month so it'd be nice to get out of the house.
